CASA of Warren and Forest Counties Is Now CYAN of Warren and Forest Counties

Our new name follows CYAN of Pennsylvania's statewide rebrand, with a new title for our volunteers, Judicial Child Advocates, and training built for Pennsylvania's dependency courts.

On Monday, November 2, 2026, CASA of Warren and Forest Counties became CYAN of Warren and Forest Counties. The change follows the October 7 rebrand of the state organization, formerly PA CASA, to CYAN of Pennsylvania.

According to Executive Director Kelsey Howard, the transition is designed to improve clarity and consistency across the statewide network and to better reflect our evolving work on behalf of children and youth. Locally, the transition has the support of President Judge Gregory Hammond and Judge Todd Woodin.

Why a New Name

The statewide rebrand follows several years of planning and collaboration with outside organizations. Leaders identified a need to address confusion surrounding our previous name, including a lack of trademark protection, and to create a brand that can support future growth and new approaches to child advocacy.

Judicial Child Advocates

Our volunteers now have a new title: Judicial Child Advocates. They are trained community volunteers, appointed by judges, whose role is backed by Pennsylvania Statute Title 42. The new title gives our volunteers a clearer professional identity, along with additional resources to support their advocacy. Current volunteers will continue their work without repeating their training or being sworn in again.

Training Built for Pennsylvania

The transition also brings an updated training curriculum tailored to Pennsylvania's dependency court system. It incorporates research-based practices and gives volunteers a stronger understanding of state laws, court procedures, and the needs of the children they serve. As a local affiliate, CYAN of Warren and Forest Counties also receives technical assistance and quality assurance from CYAN of Pennsylvania, the state office, so our work meets the standards set across the Commonwealth.

For Our Partners

Community partners and stakeholders don't need to take any formal action beyond updating our name on relevant documents as new materials become available. We would love to meet with you to share more about our new direction.
